Honestly, I died laughing at that flashback sequence. I was a bit nervous during the middle sections that this was going to turn into the generic love triangle, but those last few pages make the sequence really interesting to read.
If you go back and reread the scene at the table, there's a lot of really small lines and hints that she can see her and is being very passive-aggressive. She brings up the love story to essentially say "this is my man, lay off," and she very non-subtly tries to hide the fact that she saw the hair going crazy by jolting up and asking "what did you SEE to make you choke?" (Obviously projecting that she saw it but didn't want to acknowledge it) and tells him not to go "dying" on her. (Another jab at the ghost)
She then tries to change the subject so as to not to piss her off by talking about Umekichi, which ends up blowing up in her face, but she does get a jab in at the ghost girl, before quickly making her escape because she realizes if she stays, the situation is gonna get a lot worse.
It's some damn good writing in this chapter
