@icarushector i could understand having a sudden discomfort or feeling weird when theres a girl suddenly introduced, hinting that theres a deeper feeling of affection, which is a common thing in these when theres a rival introduced, but this is not subtle at all, she's completely upset in every panal at the idea, as if she completly realizes shes in love with the dude, or at the very least, very much doesnt want these two to be a thing, and yet, i dont remember that ever being established to the readers

its not a end of the world issue for me, it just kinda feels out of nowhere

@dojinshi To be fair, her feelings for the MC were never really established beyond attachment up to this point. He was her first real friend in a series (ostensibly) about making friends. So while I'm sure the title of the chapter is meant to imply some degree of romantic jealousy, there's also the fact that, in certain people, social awkwardness can manifest a very similar kind of jealousy. The idea that someone could come to take away "their" person is enough to spark the same kind of jealousy as someone stealing your crush. So you're right, it was never hinted at up to this point, but arguably, it's a logical response.

At the moment, my personal feeling is that she's jealous more so over the idea that, if the MC gets a girlfriend, he'll be too busy to hang out with her/be her friend. Of course, given how these series usually go, and the title of the series, for that matter...I'm like 85% sure I'm wrong on that particular part.

@dojinshi i thought im the only one that notices this, i was like yelling throughout the chapter, "why the f are you suddenly jealous?" her development of her feelings came out of nowhere.

this is the first time she actually refuses to befriend someone.
if her attachment to MC is only limited to a friend she doesnt want to lose, i dont think she would refuse a new one.

@DreamCarver I'm afraid to mention any of them just in case I jinx it. The unfortunate reality is most go the love triangle or harem route, particularly the shounen romcoms. Especially true if the main heroine is a gal... and as inevitable as a love rival is in romcoms/romances (shounen, shoujo, josei, seinen or whatever the fuck) is the sect of individuals who instantly and fervently declare said rival/s as best girl/boy after a single chapter then proceed to LOSE THEIR SHIT when they don't win.
