That king is a royal too, if you killed him, it just give a whole continent justified reason to destroy your own kingdom -_-Hmmmm I dunno why you'd save the assassin, seems like a stupid move in many ways.
At this point why not just behead the king on grounds of attempted royal assassination they'd have the grounds.
Well, even if she spares the assassin, the assassin will still dieHmmmm I dunno why you'd save the assassin, seems like a stupid move in many ways.

I suspect that assassin will be unalived, even the FMC seemed to have doubts on the assassins "good health" after all this. Generally you don't get to live after attempting to assassinate a royal specially not from a commoner and even if still alive would have a lifetime in prison.I mean the Female lead said earlier that the empire is still more powerful. It would be like Iran killing the President of the US or the Taiwan killing the Xi Jinping during a peaceful meeting; instant and complete destruction in a war of "righteous retribution" from the empire.
Also back in feudal times there were times when it was considered wrong to just kill a king since he was ordained by god. So you had to get an okay beforehand like getting the pope to say god said it was Okay to kill the ordained king.
As for the assassin, I think she was feeling sorry for her. The chapter stated that she lost her family due to the war and the food issues so there was an actual reason why she would feel like this was the right thing to do. So the female lead might feel a bit at fault and also hopes that she can have the assassin see a future where no one else will die the way their family had.
I think its more likely the emperor will kill her both in anger at her for failing and to further obscure his direct connection to this attempt.I suspect that assassin will be unalived, even the FMC seemed to have doubts on the assassins "good health" after all this.
