Instead of forcing yourself to love, you must first become aware you're being loved.

'Aware' and 'being loved' aren't words you usually see together describing your typical protagonist unless they're a precocious, egocentric prick. Really solidifies how difficult it is being a 'good person' who 'knows you're loved' without letting it get to your head.

Thank goodness. I was so ready to hate the emperor, but I kept holding out hope that it wasn't actually a spell, so when they revealed what he actually said, I felt so relieved. That said, my feelings towards the author are the same as the prince's towards the king in that instance.
