Agreed, My guess is the Mangaka didn't want to do the typical they already speak Japanese or the God automatically gave the MC a language upload upon transfer but didn't want to put in any of the story work of having to communicate with people who don't share your language. In Shoushaman no Isekai Survival, the MC has to slowly learn the language though he does have a bit of a cheat because his appraisal skill allows him to read the written characters of the language as Japanese, which involves a lot of his conversations being done with a portable chalk board which is kinda funny to watch.

In Shoushaman no Isekai Survival it's almost as if he understands the language, some moments are awkward and sometimes he doesn't understand, but most of the time he might as well be speaking properly. So i would put that into the bin of "Though he was going against the trope, but pretty much did the exact same thing"
