@Sterben4 Wei Rudao was probably the one who along with the blissful temple ordered a hit on herself or something to accuse the Matriarch, Yu Hongyan and The Great Elder, Wu lingxuan of disclosing her weakness to the blissful temple or the assassins and the rest is history...You can also see how she reacted when MC thwarted her plans by butting in to save her when she didn't need saving(she almost choked Xie Yan to death and change her mind quickly after saying she was on a bad terms with the Matriarch, then ended following Xie Yan to the sect to probably improvise her plans).
