She admits that she was purposely trying to make him hate her, cause she thinks she is someone gross that is unworthy of being with him, but the guilt of him still liking her eats away at her and she ends up crying and apologizing for her mean behavior, he in exchange apologizes for being too pushy and not respecting her boundaries, they somewhat resolve the issue and become more open around each other
So do they ever tell why she is gross and all ?

Holy mother of pain. Also is Shia the older brother's ex-girlfriend?

Curious to see where this goes because the wall the MC has hit continues to grow larger. I'm okay if this turns out to be a bittersweet part-drama, part-SoL of MC coming to terms with the reality of the situation, growing up, and moving on. If there's any chance for him, it might have to be when he's much older (and hopefully wiser).

Fortunately still lots of chapters available to read, just commenting my thoughts for now because this chapter hit like--to continue the metaphor--a ton of bricks and I'm not sure if it's going to get better or worse from here on out.

I don't particularly care to see Tasuku and Shia together because it's rather awkward, but I know too well how it's like to have a one-sided crush of someone older, cooler, and seemingly more mature. And that the world doesn't revolve around you and things don't usually just fall into your lap (and if they do, hold onto it carefully). Now I'm the older one, and it's so strange being on the other side...

Oh, and the sister might be my favorite character so far.

i feel like sister knows those 2 will just get sucked into talking about movies forever, so she says something to snap them out of it

Lil bro got murdered for absolutely no reason. The bittersweet tone is set but I still hope it turn out good.

that was horrible... I probably would have cried if I was at that age in that position.

Yeah... not quite sure how to reconcile this with my earlier thinking. Maybe some of these people are right, and she's been interested in Tsumugu, but is conflicted with Tasuku's sudden interest. But she does seem legitimately interested in spending time with him, so there's that, even with the jab about it being 'like a job'.

And yeah, really liking the sister, Shizuku, since chapter 12. I may have been over-reaching with my idea she might have intentionally called Tasuku over in that chapter because she saw Shia but didn't want to outright say that's why he should be there, but she still made her stand with her brother and Shia in dealing with those other two girls.

I would ask why does he like her?
It's pretty obvious from the flashbacks and his personality (even if he doesn't realize it yet) - he likes how focused she can be about something. He lacks that in his classmates, he lacks that in his siblings.
Of course there's the looks, which are also important part, but considering the situation where he fell for her, it's not about that primarily (he's seen her before and hadn't fallen for her until that theatre scene).
