Yeah, this just screams 'socially awkward'. She really is struggling to deal with him in this situation, but doesn't want to just not deal with him entirely, either. I mean, they're both pretty damn awkward. It's just Tasuku has a big ego to help give him the courage to keep going for her, while she's kind of the opposite, I feel, and is too scared to get much closer than they already are due to self-esteem issues or who knows what else because of her hobby.

To be honest, her characterization is reminding me of Haruka Nogizaka (from a series named after her), who was popular (and from the upper class), but had trauma with respect to her hobby, so rarely shares it outside of a select few who have found out about it and she trusts.

So, yeah, there's certainly a different tone here than the 'glasses girl' story this creator did before. That was just constant diabetes, but this threatens about drama relatively frequently. Still some level of sweetness to it, but it's hidden under the drama layers.

Mozichuki with the rgb shirt.
Is she? Mochizuki seems to be wearing a dress with a bow by the collar. Did you mean Asora? He's the only one wearing a shirt with a distinctive enough design on it.

Admittedly, they haven't been making the full names of the classmates clear, so I get there's some confusion, but I'm pretty sure the story has pointed out Mochizuki is the girl with light hair before. Still have no idea what the name of the dark-haired girl who hangs out with them is. Is that Kei-chan? Or is Kei-chan the taller dude? I can't be sure right now.

Has author never worked before, you meet people you know all the time, depending where you live of course, but you wouldn't just ignore them, I dont understand this lol
In Japan it's considered a bit more "inappropriate" to show familiarity in restaurants and such. You are supposed to be professional. Of course, some leeway can be seen here and there (usually the smaller the chain, the more there is allowed, also smaller town means everyone knows each other, obviously), but it's not really comparable with Western Europe / US approach.

I also see this as a reason why few chatters here don't understand the "friendly" part - she's being fairly nice to them, telling them "I don't want you to get in trouble if it's found out we know each other, so don't overstay just because Tasuku knows me". And yes, being told to leave (albeit very nicely) because the manager finds out that an employee knows a customer and cannot focus on work properly (even theoretically) is a pretty realistic scenario.
