mayo makes sense, but how could she introduce chocolate without the cacao bean? and if they already had the cacao bean, it should already exist. it was made into solid confections very soon after it was introduced to europe (previously mainly being served as a drink). did she personally conquer and colonise the fantasy world equivalent of south america?

About the last part, I think I remember there was a mention of somewhere known as Appalachia in one of the early chapters, so perhaps the Americas are a known place already, and cacao beans existed but the process for making them into chocolate hadn't been devised yet

Edit: just checked and apparently Appalachia is the neighboring country to the one the story takes place in, which if it's at all related to the real world Appalachia would mean cacao wouldn't be hard to source
