In this chapter, he specifically says he's "pushing 30," which means he's not quite 30 yet. The comment from chapter 7 was made behind his back by a cafe waitress who never met him before, and has no way of knowing his age. Perhaps the author made a mistake, or perhaps you're just reading too much into it.

Also, besides the comment about his ears, he specifically states his lack of stamina is the problem. Besides, motion sickness doesn't increase with age, it's quite the opposite actually. Susceptibility to motion sickness decreases with age, particularly in males.

@seekermoc I guess him mentioning the cause of his motion sickness means nothing.

Plus how can I be reading too much into his age when it is stated in the manga

and the Raws have it in numerals so it isnt a mistranslation either

@seekermoc Also, the very first chapter has both of their ages so no, I'm not reading into it too much

I never said him mentioning his "semi-circular canals" means nothing, in fact, I specifically acknowledged it in my response. What I'm saying is that the MC trying to associate his motion sickness problem with age is BS, as motion sickness gets better with age, the truth of which the author may be ignorant of.

And yes, you've shown that you're right about the age, but it is still an error either by the author or the translator to have the MC say he's "pushing 30," when he's over 30.

But still, you're definitely reading too much into a simple slice-of-life story, and none of this discussion contradicts my original point: The MC, whether 20-something or 32, should be capable of easily handling a day at an amusement park, and if he can't, he's in poor health, but not because of age. He is not justified for blaming his problems on age, when he's not old enough to have started experiencing physical decline, though admittedly, at 32 it will start soon.

Read until ch. 16, now return to comment.
About vestibular weakness...well, All adults whom I know never mentioned having such problem right after 30. Thus it feels weird for me.
As for "meet earlier", I think they could meet at 19/23, that would be ideal for them. She already in uni life, young adult; he already salaryman (or maybe at last years of uni) but still young. Guys, "young" doesn't only mean "highschooler"
