So it's the passing of the torch but in doing so, he also set a bar that the next generation of heroes that they can never attain but I bet that contract will do something once the new generation breaks that ceiling. I do wonder what it's clear condition thou. Will it be related to the death of the current generation of heroes or something else?

One thing is certain thou, Rania is going to be the one to prepare the torch that will shine so brightly once the next generation receives it.

Holyshit this was depressing, really reminded me of ffxiv "remember us that we once lived".
I legit wonder what MC is going to do now especially since there's 2 problematic people where he's at in the north, that dude who wants to resurrect his daughter and the church who wants to breach the tower and steal the saints bones/corpse while sacrificing the non-believers.

Well, you better be quick. I think the lich might've already corrupted the current hero's party.

Inb4 the demon king too is just some star contract gone hay-wire.

The contract allowed the creation of heroes that should be on par with Ganikalt. Every generation of hero after the first is the work of the contract.

The next generation after Kyle is already "chosen" - it's Chloe, despite not being a swordsman.

Death doesn't seem to be the condition which causes a hero to lose their blessing. Kyle's master lost his and ran away and was able to survive and mentor the next generation. Kyle was still alive for a while when Chloe almost got kidnapped.

We don't know how someone gets chosen nor how they lose the blessing. The three heroes we know so far aren't exactly model heroes, and one of them doesn't even use a sword. There doesn't seem to be a clear rule.

Aren't you referring to the first saint's sacrifice and the ritual the shaman did with her arms? It seems like it was implied that the contract did something else so the future generation of heroes will be successful in defeating the demon lord.

Well, they aren't successful. All we know is that it ensured that the is a "hero". There is only one hero at a time it seems too. The blessing as far as we know is just pure power.

I guess we have to see what that contract will do.

One thing is certain thou, the ritual guarantees the creation of heroes that are nearly as powerful as the first generation. It seems like the ritual is only setup as a seedbed but the contract will do something to help the next generation to surpass the first.
