Well, to be honest, I've back burnered this series, so I can't comment on the latest chapters. The plot points are pretty much the same, which works great, but what has given me pause is how the artist focuses on trying to create an uneasy impression by characters interacting with the main character.

That happens and is a key point in the novel, but it is emphasized to an extreme degree in the comic, and if rather just get on with the story instead of long drawn out panels at crazy dutch angles. For example, a couple of paragraphs of unease in the novel may be turned into most of a chapter in the comic. Might just be an attempt at padding, but it made me look elsewhere for things to read.

Cid is dope because while he does have a silly misunderstanding(he’s just pretending not understand for the readers is my theory) this guy so far just seems well like the pawn of devil which is kind of boring to read if he’s unaware of it it would be funny if he somehow goes against the demon mastermind but I’ll give it a go maybe it gets more interesting rather than paragraphs of seemingly filler.

It seems to be a common trope specifically in the Chinese other world stories; the main character possesses absolutely immense power but is completely unaware of it and does things they imagine are ordinary, but which the characters around them see as deeply impactful and even overwhelming, as the reality they see clashes with what the MC sees.

I'm not Chinese, so I don't really get it.

One thing I like about Eminence in Shadow, Overlord and Lord of Mysteries is when others overthink about stuff the MC does or says and end up believing something like "wow this person has an incredibly high level of strength or wisdom" and stuff.
