This actually shows why the story is top tier in regards to "misunderstanding" stories in general. There is no suspension of disbelief. The author has basically written two versions of the story where the advice still works regardless. That means they had to coordinate Mr. Lin's perspective and the story events from a reality perspective. That takes a lot of effort and the fact the author plans it so well is a feather in their cap.
