a few details glossed over but this is generally my favorite moment of the entire novel so far.

It skipped over some details, but those pirates were given a bunch of state-of-the-art mechs to work with, so they thought they had a chance.

....they didn't.
Liam's thoughts on those mechs were "hey these are a bit crunchier than usual!"
