We have an interesting premise: What if Art could fight the world's monsters? I'll hold out for this to develop, but the first impression is that there's a reduction of Art to use value, or commodity value.

The wizards who kidnapped her think the things she creates aren't useful, and dispose of her. Short-sighted motives.

The first imagination she meets makes modern art fiascos- Mâdemesoiilles d'Avignon, and weird Courvoisier architecture. People hate it, and it's ineffectual at fighting the monsters.

And our MC? She wants to make cute clothes. An expression of personal style, but it's not very good at fighting monsters.

Here's the rub. Fashion, as an art form, is well captured by capital interests. Fashion is created by superstructure like magazines or high profile designers, as a method to create class divisions and planned obsolescence. I can relate to her desire to create unique fashion as an individual, but that motive contradicts her attempts to apply it to others without questioning how they want to present themselves. What makes fashion useful? What makes fashion interesting? And how does fashion solve material problems (Like Teddy-bear monsters?!)

Going by how it's magic items that they are making, I expect that they will do more than just look cute.
