The thing is a lot of normal romance ends right with the confession. It's moreso just that this author actually knows how to write romance, instead of just drama.
That is the thing to me too. So many romance is not in my opinion really about that. Most of it is drama and how they get together really few romance that shows after they start dating or more progress then hey they are dating the next 50 chapters is them trying to kiss and then we end it with a final chapter of a wedding.
I thought about this before, but, manga like this that there is no need for the autor to be all prince-like with the protagonist and more like people that like each other anda it's okey between then leading to a more mature and good story
Well it doesn't have to do the whole will they won't they aspect of it. So it's got more in tune with a lot of post confession romance series. The downside being that more of the side cast will tend to take up page space.
At least for this series the side-cast is usually less disjointed from the main one, always having their plots circle the main cast in one way or another.
Helps expand a bit of the world, while making sure to not try and take attention away from the characters we want to be following - compared to trying to make up a completely detached story about their lives.
