It's a mistranslation. In the original script he very subtly told her to back off from prying further into the matter of "ex-gf".

Calling her stepdad a bastard brings the unpleasant implication that she's probably also being abused by him. It's probably bad enough that she's lost her sense of self-worth and is literally going to sell her body to old men for money.

But how did they get together from that dumb coincidence? It's not like he saved her from anything. At first I thought he pretended to be an old man and just wanted to get rid of his virginity or something but it turns out her "john" wasn't him. Well, I wonder where this will take us...

This ain't a romcom anymore after that nasty rugpull. If Aya's backstory delivers the typical abused girl sob story this'll be a bonafide dumpster fire for sure.
