She didn't care about him romantically or about his personal life until VERY recently. Specially when they started high school and got separated. So he didn't bother to inform her about any part of it (naturally). She thought he was just standing there waiting for her. But apparently he wasn't lol. Such is the deserved fate of every single childhood friend.
