It's been 2 months, and all they did was release more extra chapters to fill in the gaps. This is some next level edging

The rating is so low because the author betrayed the expectation of the readers. Most of the audience that was first attracted to this manga were hoping for a light, fluffly, slice of lfe, coming of age romcom between Yuu and Hikari. The damning part is that that's exactly what it was for 20 chapters. That's like months' worth of chapters and expectations. So there was no reason to think that it was gonna go elsewhere. Once people were fairly invested enough, all of a sudden BAM, you get this bullshit drama out of nowhere. No foreshadowing, no telegraphs, nothing. Just plopping there on your face. In any other scenarios, this kind of bullshit drama would be welcome, if the audience already know that that's to be expected. Or if the author was just a bit less stupid and do it in a gentler way, so that it doesn't feel like a betrayal of expectations. Start small dramas here and there, and then evolve into bigger dramas. Not this sudden bullshit. I don't think this manga will ever recover. It's just bad storytelling on the part of the author. And the low rating is more than justified.
