Now that we are out of bonus chapters, I don't actually remember what is happening in this manga

It's fine if you don't remember: the manga doesn't actually care about the plot or solving any of it anymore. The ending is abrupt and nonsensical and deeply unfufilling.

I was also just as confused as everyone else, and had to look at the release history to remind myself what had happened especially with all the missing chapters on Mangadex. Someone will correct whatever details I got wrong, but I think it went something like this:

• Scanlation team posts chapters up to end of Volume 5, then drops the series because it's officially licensed in 2016
• The publishing company releases Volume 6 in 2018, and then just...doesn't release Volume 7 for many years? I bought Volume 6 in English so I know what happens up to that point.
• The sequel series Immortal Ridge starts publication, someone scanslates the first volume and nothing else. It's clear from context that the first series ends on a weird cliffhanger.
• The publishing company finally releases Volume 7 in English in 2024, 6 years after the last one they published.
• This team picks up scanlation starting from Volume 7. I thought they would have started from 6, but I somehow missed that Volume 6 actually was uploaded to Mangadex during covid, so if anyone is super confused by the plot, you might not have read that yet.

I did read volume 6, but it's been so long that I remember almost nothing from it. I also don't think it matters that much.

iirc the switch to ridge was because it takes place before the end
