This works is interesting in the sense that it lacks all the excuses or pretending present in Japanese harem to have the girls have pretty much zero conflict between them. This realism does underline why a harem would be such a headache in reality, unless all the girls in the harem were only in for money or other direct, material benefits.
The womanising MC does deserve all the flak he gets, but they should spare Hua Hua from all of it. Poor girl.

@TTX and @Kaarme I agree with the headache part, and also with the reverse part in this particualar case, womanizing in any way or form is bad, and may yield very unfortunate consiquenzes... ask my cousin (he got stabbed by a crazy b*tch).
He may still be stronger than most if not all MEN in that world but still MC became a joke the moment the author decided to make him as dense as he is regarding being drugged on multiple instances by the same person. As well as being an utter retard regarding his atitude if he has show to be done in by his "harem". At this point im not even sure where I should rank him.

Seems like Chenxi is very jealous of Hua Hua's abilities. MC should just explain that his sister had gotten into trouble for sleeping with Xing Lie's son and needs Hua Hua's help to find out more about the Xings so knows how to approach Lie and what to expect if things go south. Since Lie is the mayor and related to the city's #1 cultivationist he wanted to show his worth as a man by handling things without her along with avoiding getting her and the Ye family in trouble, especially considering her directness is more likely to anger Lie than help.
BTW, didn't he ask for a handgun to be able to shoot the Wang-Chuan bullet, why did she bring an assault rifle? Granted an assault rifle can switch from one shot, three shots to fully automatic but he only has one bullet and how is he going to carry it anywhere? At least with a handgun he can carry it concealed so enemies (or at least amateurish ones who don't know what to look for or too arrogant to notice,) don't realize he's got it, get a permit, and be able to move faster and easier since it's small and light. An Assault rifle like that is likely to get confiscated by the police due to being military grade weaponry licensed to big companies not individual civilians, bulky, shows an aggressive stance just brandishing it, only has one special shot for it (unless he can duplicate the Wang Chuan bullet somehow,) and takes practice and training to use properly. It's not like the movies where some newbie can pick it up, handle it with ease and mow all the bad guys down. For starters it's got a strong kick so need to know where to position stock or the kickback could crack or break a rib or bones in collar or shoulder, how to release and lock in a magazine for reloading, how to aim taking into account distance and wind, and also how to compensate for the barrel rising from the kickback from each shot fired lest it slams into his face or expend most of the ammo over the targets instead of at.

@TTX I'm not sure the reverse part is the only problem. While I'm sure the mafia women (which are most of the strong women we have seen so far) will have plenty of lovers, I'm also sure it would rather be one official husband and then lovers on the side. Or if polygamy is allowed (I don't remember), then it would be perhaps one primary husband then some losers in addition to it. And none of them would have any illusions about their position and would settle for what they have. Unless someone was carefully planning some kind of plot to change the situation. However, the MC is clearly trying to have a bunch of women on an equal level, with all of them except Hua Hua strong women from major families.

Eh... An assault rifle doesn't have that much of a kick. It's not a shotgun. You usually don't shoot farther than 300 meters. It's not a gun meant for sniping, which reduces the practical effect of wind. Single shot fire or short bursts are more typical than emptying the whole magazine at once, so the barrel isn't going to wander great distances. It's not a machine gun, after all.
