Yes. Jarring juxtaposition of a serious adventure with the sibling’s naive numbskullery is a running joke. More panels are spent on the bento tragedy than the epic fight because the imbalance is the gag. This one fell a bit flat because the contrast wasn’t vivd enough, but it was clearly intentional.
