But actually, I'm a little surprised Charlotte didn't approach Dietrich earlier. She was lonely and struggling, right? Why didn't she at least try to befriend him?

I'd assume the system didn't allow her to spill the beans right away, but some harmless in-character interactions would've been fine, I think. Welp, now it's basically forced upon her anyway...
