Wow, it's kind of strange, but I don't give f*cking sh*t about what happened to her predecessors... I mean, if it was a story centered on mysteries, power, adventure, a shonen with a good world building, I would probably have an interest in that since it helps uncover a bit of the huge world's history and mythology that may have relevance to the main story line.
But that's a wonderful shoujo, I'm more here because of Misuzu's character, how she evolves in it, her cute Noel, her adorable (and still a bit confused) love for Noche, how they will cuddle together, her living with him slowly and living on, going to see all her friends, and such. So I don't care about "random bland dude that we never heard about and never had any relevance".
Even King Douche has more appeal to what happens to him.
