1- mangaka needed that cliffhanger.
There's nothing making us go read the next volume with fire in the eyes, becase there's almost nothing to advance the plot right now (only Gaias side quest for Renne).
Mangaka would lose a considerable number of readers if not for that ending (not ideal in my opinion)

2- I doubt there's only going to have romance if this work gets extended. I'm sure that creepy king is going to summon that cheat of a programmer into Gaia, and they are going to battle off with the Demon Lord and Renee.

3- This is originally aimed at girls and young woman, so if the romance part is cringy for you, please by all means go read a bloody war seinen, have a charge of adrelaline and men's tear, and come back when you want to lay low from the action a bit. ?

I guess she doesn't know that if a person can make one who always feels like shit happy the "cured person would show love and appreciate for the person who helps. We always use each other in selfish ways to make ourselves feel better. Love is a bit of a selfish emotion, but it isn't a bad one.

I am getting quite bored of this series' s current story line...

I am here to read adventure Isekai, not to read a TV Drama.... if I wanted TV Drama, I would have gone to a Drama site.

Anyways... is it just me or did Gaia just suggested that planet's civilization has been there for more than 100,000 years? (since 2~3 Demon Lord's age was more than 7000, and the average is 5000 if they met their Fated One, if not it's just 1000 or so. And the current one is 36 I think. So 36 x 5000 = 180,000 years - 10~80,000 for descending into madness)

And the important part is... from 100,000 years, that world's civilization literally hasn't progressed, literally zero Technology relate to Electricity. (in fact, their World is pretty much early Middle Age of Earth... just with magic)

While Earth's civilization obtained Electricity in just 10,000 years or so... (actually a lot earlier, There are relics of ancient batteries made of Earthen Pots discovered from 5~6000 years ago)

And all of these was done by Gaia... who purposely stopped Humans from developing by either wiping most of them out with pandemics or stopping them from obtaining/ learning/ discovering/ inventing anything that'll progress their civilization... (such as stopping the Humans from summoning an actual "hero" that could help progress their World, instead he gave them an airheaded Fated one with next to no knowledge...)

Overall... Gaia is literally a Puppet master that's playing with the World as he sees fit even tho he says "I can't do anything"...

More or less, from my view, Gaia is a dictator.

What I am trying to say is... if the next chapter is crap, I am dropping this series.

@chaos_animagic on the non-advancement, consider everywhere that wasn't Europe prior to the 15-16th century, and think how they would have been in another 500 years, another 1000 years without any European contact. Just imagine they're not advancing for similar reasons. Look how long China was in development stasis. Collapse/Wiping out the governing structure, can really set things back (the South American Civs, Bronze age Civs, Rome, the (3rd)Caliphate, SE Asia Civs) as well. Europe was the exception, not the rule. Liberty, freedom, the sanctity of the individual, these ideas are not human universals. Things like war, slavery, and corruption are.

This is why I always hate "red string of fate" kind of story. To have/forced into a predetermined path by some dude with lots of power is just the worst type of romance(in my opinion).
