@lightingcloud No, but its not really worth the time correcting. 100% of the readers will understand it, and it doesn't break the flow of the sentence at all (spoken, its 100% the same after all, and most people process words as sound in their mind).

By becoming a noble, she also had to swear allegiance to the king. In my opinion she agreed to that far too easily. Noche should have left a demon lawyer with her. In the end, what exactly did she gain? They said she got no land, thus no taxes or other income from estates. She only got a title, but in exchange to that is ever tighter under the king's control. Much good that pesky title will be compared to her healing powers and otherworldly intelligence, sheer magical potential and most of all Noche's protection. Yes, if you ask me, a really lousy deal. Independence would be much better than a yoke with few benefits. They even gave her the lowest possible title.

@firefish5000 I completely disagree. The whole point of a proofreader is to find the mistakes or badly-worded places and indicate them. This kind of thing should be caught along with any other errors.

Yes, but I don't expect it from free translations, nor do I care about things at this level. Things that do break the flow are a much larger concern. Like confusing he and him. Or saying "he/she" instead of using the singular they. Or when, in a business envioement, they use the word "buddy" instead of cooperant, or partener. What's with the that last one anyways?

Because she's a pushover and likely one that strives to do what she has promised to do. If she had no intention to do whatever the king asks from her, she shouldn't have agreed to become his direct underling. The king wouldn't have gone through with this without a reason. For example if she wanted to travel around and see the world, the king (or the prince) could say that since she's now a noble of the kingdom, it's kind of expected she would spend at least some of her time in the kingdom, so perhaps she could only travel three months of the year. I could see her immediately "realising" that's of course how it should be and agree to it.

@Kaarme it does nothing of immediate benefit, but if she decides to travel the world, she will have the backing of this kingdom, to protect her from others trying to pressure her into things, since most magical forms of coercion are covered by Noche's, or God's, protections. Anybody trying something with her, will find themselves in an international incident, assuming that Noche doesn't erase their existence first.

I'm glad that Reene has freedom in this world. Luckily they're not trying to push on the romance aspect immediately and I hope they continue it gradually instead of pushing everything onto us.

In my opinion anyone who would really threaten her or try to trick her couldn't care less about the kingdom's protection or her ties to it. The best backing the kingdom could have given her would be money, but she received no land. Noche could give her fabulous riches without a second thought, but she obviously wouldn't fall so low she would ask for such things.
