I remember when Iketani appeared in the story he was slightly cool, teaching them about cars and having his own little "racing team" on Mount Akina.

Then he became a punching bag. Not only he lost badly after that and became little more than comedic relief for the rest of the story, but also the thing with Mako was beyond pathetic.
