I absolutely adore this chapter, as much as I detest it's content. It's probably the most soul-moving chapter to me, since ch. 30 with all the "paving the road for future France" symbolism.

This time though? I kneel, Sakamoto, I really do. Imagery was indescribable, muscle-cramping on some pages even. Terrible acts depicted in such a tactful manner, while being just as dark and creepy, terrifying even, as they should be. THIS is what I want from media, I think. For all it's worth, I'm glad it's Marie-Joseph who gets to kill him. And I'm also sad.

She didn't need to be a *ape victim of some high-standing pedo- to be messed up. She already was messed up. She already was beyond saving, most probably. Piling more crap on top of her existence will transform her from a psychopath to a true, overbearing, cold monster.

And I'm a bit happy Charles-Henri knows. I'm happy, because at best, she trusts him enough to share and at worst, somebody examined her to let him know and he - obviously, it's Charles - cares.

Now here's the deal - y'all want Griffin to suffer. Understandable. Marie-Joseph needs to be careful though. It's already unheard of to have woman executioner, especially this young, especially in the 2nd most important "section" of France. If she just hacks him the way Charles did Jean de Chartois, she will lose her job. Same job he endured terrible torment for. She might need to be smart about it, unless she has similar silver tongue to her older brother.
