Hah, who would've thought - it was not a proper entry for Marie-Joseph. No, it was a send-off of Jean-Baptiste. Amazing display, befitting a master of his sword. One, small moment of clarity, before drifting away again. I respect that greatly, like when he went out of his way to amputate Jacques' leg. Illness can't erase a person - there's always some part of them left.

I like the parallels as well, with Jean-Baptiste stepping onto the scaffolding to pick up after both Charles' and Marie's poor debuts. It's very fitting. In Charles-Henri's case, he performed badly due to being fragile and too sensitive. In Marie-Joseph's case, she was too full of anger, too hungry for vengence.

That being said, her father stole her revenge from her. I wonder how will that influence Marie and if she even sees it as something unjust, considering the respect she has for "the art of death". She might be more impressed with her father, probably for the 1st time in her life, than upset due to Griffin's fate.
