Oh, that was unexpected! I've gained quite a lot of respect for Louis-Philip here. Pressure doesn't matter, expectations neither. He seems infatuated with Marie-Antoinette, but has enough empathy to spare her what she's been molded for and what she fears so deeply.
It MIGHT also be due to his slightly homosexual tendencies, but I like to believe it was kindness mostly. And boy, oh boy, am I waiting for Louis' "siblings" to die. I think Marie-Antoinette would've appreciated it too, if Louis had the bravery needed to talk back to that freak. Maybe she can motivate him to gain enough self-confidence for that?
