People becoming too reliant on GenAI as a "social partner" has been a problem in real life for a while now, but somehow I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've actually seen a work of fiction address it. Which is kinda interesting considering how this is apparently an adaption of a novel that's an adaptation of a song, both of which presumably came out before everyone really started freaking out about these people.
