I was wondering why 003 couldn't piece it together that its 001 under that mask just from seeing his fighting style. She most likely seen Ijin train with the other numbers back when they were still together. Then I just remembered that she still thinks 001 is gone

I'll assume this is true cuz i also forgot if she had reunion with 001 or not, it all makes sense but still tho the possibility that its in fact 001 who she know have the skills, should be higher than unknown non number that can replicate numbers skill, just what makes her think that its not 001, she gotta have a strong proof to deny such thing.

I think the thing is, his knife fighting style mostly just says "Some guy who was trained well by 004".

That was pretty reckless of Ijin to just challenge One immediately instead of another time especially it would put the other nos. in danger.

003 had encountered 001 two or three times, IIRC, and yet, it never crossed her mind that she fought 001.

Edit: Also, if I would add, 004 was the one who trained 001 knife fighting and I bet, they also did some sparring while training. So, the moment they were engaged in melee, 004 may immediately recognized 001's fighting style.
