Your vet definitely sounds sketchy! Honestly it might be worth looking for another one. I stayed with a bad one for way too long before i searched for smth new, cause i thought they were all the same. But they arent! Good ones exist!

I had a friend with a black cat named Slash Death-rocket. Little shit lived up to it's name. Loved to try to gouge out people's eyes while they were sleeping. Or at least attempt to. My brother and I both got scratches on our foreheads before from that p.o.s. Other friend had a super friendly dog that got too close and vet had some pretty bad expectations for it's left eye. Lucky it turned out okay. (Dog's name was Doom-Hammer and would have been awesome rocking an eye-patch even if it loved to cuddle just about anything willing.)

Best option for over-aggressive kitty is to clip their front claws. NOT de-claw! Just either take them to a vet to get the claw points knocked off every few weeks or get the proper set of clippers needed to do it yourself from time to time. They'll still have the claws, the claw will just be blunted enough to not be able to draw blood most of the time. And they'll still have the back claws if they end up defending themselves in any actual fights.

Edit: De-clawing really is a last resort. Still viable if kitty is just straight up crazy town.
Edit2: My friend just refused to do it ever, and also was bad at keeping her claws clipped. He was a lot like his cat, a massive jerk. Though only because it was in his nature to be so. My friend at least tried to not be a jerk and was usually adequate successfully. Cat did as cats often do, not cared for it's petty mortal servants.

And I'm still here, wondering after 10 or so chapters if she's so worried about her brother, because this was the last time she was sent flowers, and she knows that there's a connection between him and Danny's business, then why oh why doesn't she open her mouth and ask Danny to look into it??? She had plenty of opportunities, plus, now Danny gave her a green light to go ahead with whatever request she had. Gaaaaah!
Maybe I'm more worried about her brother than Iris is xDD

I hope Lorry gets better soon. Reading the vet's disclaimer sent red flags. I'd seriously consider changing to a vet who is a more responsible person.
