Woah... Shinozuka outright said it.. o.o;; this is kind of depressing seeing that a circle friends are only there for one person..like there are only some who are friends for either toru or koyuki..if it weren't for them it would just break.. :/ I hope to see all of them be friends and not just those 2...
But what Shinozuka said it true.. since he finally found his friends who accepted him for who he is, he truly treasures them and understands them meaning of friends, and he's trying so hard not to lose it. The others don't have the same experience, especially Koyuki who naturally has friends and is naturally popular. She has to literally put herself in his shoes to truly understand what it means to be shunned and what friends truly are :)

Omg, finally, someone on Toru's side in this arrangement. Wow, I'm liking Hijiri a lot more after this chapter.

In my experience it's not that rare for people in a 'group of friends' to have people they're more fond of than others within the group.

The whole "we're a bunch of people desperately clinging to each other rather than real friends" narrative might strike home if they hadn't spent time together away from the main couple multiple times in the downtime between arcs and the 4komas. The only one I really feel isn't part of the group at this point is Tokita.

News flash- this IS how humans form relationships. You start hanging out, you hang out some more, you go through stuff together, you learn how they act when they've let their guard down, when they're angry, when they're sad. Relationships aren't a bond magically appearing from one day to the next, they're a knotted rope made out of thousands of tiny interwoven strands, each one a shared experience.
