Tbf, she experienced the tragedy at the start and for a huge chunk she has been experiencing decent amount of depression.

Her parents don't believe she is their son, she lost her job and her sex changed in the most inconvenient way possible.

If that ain't considered a tragedy, I dunno what is.

Even if it has the tag "tragedy" (or well, did) it doesn't mean the entire story is tragedy. Just decent chunk of it has been depressing.
