Anyone else confused about the setting? The villains use buzzwords like humanity, but isn't the seventh prince's kingdom a separate nation? What jurisdiction does the planet lord have to fuck with a sovereign nation. It's not like Halo where humanity is unified to a single political power the United Nations and the only separate human factions in Halo are rebel groups.

@Feeder he didn't have that, at least not officially. They were relying on the crown prince bending the rules to their advantage later. They would help him to get rid of the seventh and the emperor and in return he would sanction their actions as "being in the interests of Alkaid". As long as there is an official justification it doesn't matter if it's a pretext, as long as everyone else is too afraid of them to speak out.

The funny thing about "just using your fists" is that if you're good enough at it, and do it often enough against your enemies, one day, you'll run out of enemies and you'll win.
