We daily read WAY worse things happening in other series that try to take a serious approach and not only no one starts fussing about it, they can even cheer or make fun of it. But then people gets super triggered for a gag in a comedy manga? Maybe its like you said because it feels more real than other things and it hits close to home, but i also think there is a lot of double standard, hypocrisy and posers.
