Reading pixelated text? No, it doesn't. When you typeset, you're trying to mimic the original text. The original text isn't pixelated. Here, I redid the opening text as a example, and included the original text, and their version for comparison.

That's disappointing. They cover so many good works, but the AA bothers me a lot personally when reading.
