Every time they say "El Gato" now, I start reading Levant's speech bubbles in the voice of Puss in Boots from Shrek in my head. He's starting to have the same accent now.

if by logic that more sugar consumed = higher IQ;

aren't there like more sugary sweets than cola the cartel can make, like idk, lollipops? In fact since we are in a much fantastical setting, can't you just go selling cakes instead of having the trouble to kidnap Lorosi lmao.

Imagine buying crack from the cartel and it turns out to be just white sugar.

So he just wanted to hide his identity from his friend, Eugene, under fear that being exposed as an edgy drug lord, will affect how Eugene and friends see him.

...I don't think "being a mafioso boss" is worse than being an Abyss assassin..??? What the ferk does he have to hide, here?

This story just delves deeper and deeper into melodrama, rather than focus on its hook: Eugene. Star child. Magic. Overcoming boundaries.
He's in a msgic school and only learnt one thing thus far, that he doesn't even use..

Yeah, this is absolutely the worst part of the story. Why send him to a magic academy in the city where basically all he's done is jump instantly to some of the highest tier magic possible and duel the god-child. I was looking forward to the story taking a breather after that opening and slowing down for a bit of SoL academy stuff, but it really has not let off the accelerator. He hasn't even had true classes, his entire first week was spent preparing for a duel.

It doesn't get better, sadly. The story is constantly kept on the action track, every scene is always an extreme of some kind...

Pretty much stopped reading. Just flip through it once every few chapters.
