World Politics and crises are interesting, because it triggers the part of our brains that evolved to be strong in order to put more attention on the sabertooth tiger in the cave, rather than the working fire.
It also doesn't provide any value to the people interacting with it, instead giving and leaving them a feeling of impotent rage.
Honestly, interacting with the news kinda... It's very comparable to hatewatching, interacting actively with something you dislike immensely

Ergo, stop watching that rubbish, take care of yourself instead
But if I don't watch news then I might wake up one day to find that my rights are gone soo...

I mean sorta but also bc the news is like super biased and if I'm gonna get biased info it might as well be from ppl I can have a discussion with yknow?
In that case, instead of watching TV news (such as FOX and other channels) read different newspapers (digital version, they have a lot of media nowadays) such as The Washington Post, New York Times, BBC and more. It's impossible being 100% impartial but at least you can choose those that are more neutral.

Most news sites have comment sections. You can interact and have convos with people there. Whether or not such is advisable or ever fruitful, I will decline to say.

Yes, every news source has its own leanings, but part of life is being able to review the information that passes before your eyes critically.

Considering the implications of language (loaded words, faulty logic, argumentation fallacies including ad hominem (actually applicable and factual some times,) slippery slope (some would argue that it's relevant to the whole ww3 shebang,) and appeal to (false) authority, some of the most topical issues you will see in the news,) is a crucial skill and honestly something you should attempt to learn.

Oftentimes, reviewing the content of a news article is as simple as doing some basic research including finding other news outlets and comparing reports, checking public court and gov't documents, and tuning into official or original language reports. Yes this takes time, but if you are unwilling to search for answers in today's information saturated world then you are surrendering your right to think for yourself and make decisions.

This resource is a bit superficial, but it might be of help to you: John Hopkins University: Evaluating Info

Wouldn't call the Washington Post or New York Times neutral, they're both decidedly left-wing. Reuters comes closest to neutrality among the American news outlets I'd say, but re my previous post, everything has their leanings, the best thing to do is to read a bit from various news outlets across the spectrum (nothing far right tho duh, no The National Review is not far right, that's Breitbart.)

That makes sense! though if I'm being entirely truthful, my aversion for just looking at actual news is a mixture of laziness, fear that I'll lose my last hope for the world, and bc due to bipolar I'm very easily influenced when manic to the point of full-on delusion so I make it a point to talk to people rather than the news

I see. Yeah, given that context that's probably the best choice. Next time try the lounge part of the forums. People here don't really like politics getting out of quarantine cuz peeps tend to pick a lot of dumb fights.

nah, nothing ever happens (as chuddah himself said)
most europeans who would be selected to fight in a war, aren't exactly on good terms with their government. besides, before any war would start, should an european government decide to start it, they would most likely be swiftly put down by some kind of revolutionary forces.
besides, the only real war worth worrying about, is the demographic wars.

Apparently crusty Cheeto man bombed Iran so were js getting the ball rolling I suppose lmao
I heard the reverse news Iran successfully bombed one of the capitols that the Jews halted their rape and slaughter. In fact, they are focusing on news blackout from the massive damage of one missile. One of the things they blurred first was the Google maps.

hey, I see obvious farmbait involving aliens, I always bait on nothing.
not until the tripods start vaporizing people will I consider it as happening.
The more I look at aliens, the more I see the people drowned by Nazi as a test on how long a man can hold breath in water in concentration camps.

Yeah that'll never happen. The mods don't really lurk around the forums as much anymore (compared to V3) so no way that's possible. :lul:
Remember that controversial videos thread that @Teasday found way later and had to shutdown? That had a long run.
