Shiina is objectively wrong at the end there. Incantations are mandatory unless Rule of Cool dictates otherwise. That incantation was awesome! Though the spell itself was a bit underwhelming, actually.

I loved that. No jokes, no humour, no speech bubbles. Just relief and comfort.

That scene alone made sitting through all the vulgar stuff up to now worth it. And it shows that the author recognizes one aspect of human nature almost no other mangaka ever depict. LOVE a good multifaceted story.
