We couldn't even get a very dumb explanation of Dashi being Bonito/Dried Fermented Fish shavings and Kombu/Kelp traditionally. It'd have taken the author like 20 seconds to google if they somehow didn't know it off the top of their head.

"dashi" is just a kind of broth. it's a bit unbelievable that they know the complex process to make miso and shoyu but never had any idea to boil stuffs to make tasty water

The fact that they seem to be higher in "skill tree" while not having food culture, or war culture is like lighting up all the red flags in me. I dunno why, it just does.

You have no understanding of making fermented food but you can ferment your food; but you are sus of using fermented/raw food?
