I'd be surprised if anyone didn't expect that outcome. Since they gave him the ability to use foam a couple of chapters ago than he is fighting a dragon. "I wonder how that fight will go..."

Not a great plan even if he'd been able to pierce the heart. It doesn't spell instant death in deer (they can apparently still run hundreds of yards after a heart shot), I have no idea how it would affect a dragon.

Why base the anatomy of a dragon off of a deer or boar? Wouldn't a bird, lizard, or bat make more sense? Birds have a large bone plate on their chest to serve as an anchor for all the muscatels needed to flap their wings. If this wants to be anatomically correct, then he just pierced through, and cut, a large bone.

I like to judge a manga based on its ability to portray a dragon during combat.
Dragons should be portrayed with the same fear striking potential and potency as a thermonuclear weapon: Domineering, indomitable beasts that are bigger, stronger, faster, smarter, and entirely superior to every other cast. They've been described in history as nigh invincible godlike entities that can only eve be defeated through direct heavenly intervention; a sword forged to pierce a dragon's scales, an arrow twice the size of a man designed to pierce a dragon's heart, etc.
With all that in mind, I rate this dragon a 3 out of 10. Its intelligence is displayed at minimal animalistic values, with combat capability being mediocre, like a half trained boxer using a handful of tricks until they figure out how to actually string a combo. It also doesn't block or dodge anything, which you'd imagine a being, comparable in anatomy to deer apparently, would at least try to do. Its fear potency is nearly nonexistent until that fire blast, and even then sword chick just got angry. Both physical and magical power are non-threatening (leaving only small cracks in soft dirt and entirely unable to break a simple magic buff), speed is just embarrassing, and it lacks every quality a nigh godlike entity should have; a cookie cutout dragon.
Dragons in this other world may be weaker than our fictional portrayal, but with two native girls, one with vivid combat experience, treating it with the kind of urgency you'd give a tsunami, it is unfortunate that it was displayed in such an underwhelming light. Why 3/10 instead of 2-1/10? Simpy because those are reserved for actual atrocities like every dragon (or bad guy in general) in that villiager becomes dragon god whatever piece of shit. This dragon at least had a few pretty cool moments.
Some pretty stupid moments too, but nothing so bad that it kills the vibe.
This manga is still good, I'm just a critic of combat, especially with entities described in history to be prophets of the apocalypse itself. Manga is a 6.5-7/10 for being both a good time waster and mildly entertaining, dragon is a 3/10

Destroyed quite literally everything in its path in a few days before it inevitably died of old age (Meaning he was a living nuclear bomb even in a near-death state), has an intimidating and aesthetically terrifying design, is treated as a sign of the "End o' the World", even the "hero" couldn't hope to fight it normally and had to let it run itself to death. -1 star because it didn't have enough screen-time, I wanna see more of him when
