It's just funny to me that Mel's consistency with being somewhat socially inept makes her go unexpected ways to the point of tying up mc lmao

Also i hope mel to be part of the main crew from now on. They really, absolutely in need of vanguard with the bullshit, out-of-the-world ideas of mc after all lololol

Thanks for the chapter!

I mean, there is already a lot of benefits for the duchy. If he does as Liz says as something that duchy will benefit and then he will get some benefit as well.

I wonder how they will handle railraod maintenance or are they just going to ignore that part or leave it to the duchy(?)
I think my main problem is that he has to entirely skip 20 or so tech generations past steam power straight to electric trains considering there's no feasible way for a steam train to function well underground without major ventilation issues

[elon musk voice] pshaw only the poors have to worry about silly little things like ventilation, drainage, fire suppression, or crumple zones! you can just buy new physics if you believe in yourself! Balvano who?
Im just wondering how he intends to make a steam engine that constantly produced superheated water vapor and CO2 in huge quantities work on a 600km underground track with obviously little to no ventilation

I think it's fairly likely that Alicia will become the party vanguard they've been looking for. The story will split focus into two parts. Whilst Myabi builds his subway back to Angellum (probably with Mel in tow), Liz and Alicia will build some sort of working relationship. Alicia currently dislikes Liz, so from a plot perspective pairing the two would be interesting.

Man, I just really love Liz's reactions.
I was skeptical about Chiffon, but after seeing her dead eyes talking about her upbringing, I think I can start trusting her. Not to mention, she actually punished her maid for her rudeness.

In Expecting to Fall into Ruin, I Aim to Become a Blacksmith, protagonist had to make a bunch of prototypes of different designs working with other craftsmen when building a train. Hopefully, it isn't too easy here.
Given how long the bathroom arc took, I think the train arc will be even longer.

exactly. best looking character in the series by far and she gets sidelined or scrapped entirely lol
maybe she joins the mc for adventuring (full copium). just hope they give a reason for dismissing her that's not total bs.
Do you seriously not see the reason why she was dismissed?
Do you honestly think the maid would happily join MC despite how hostile she has been?

she literally said she's got nothing against the mc, but the other girl. so yes, if it's just the mc, then there's nothing stopping her. especially if they order her for "rehabilitation" or whatever. maybe to learn the hardships of the girl she's been dissing or whatever excuse they come up with to make it happen.
also NO, of fucking course did i not see a reason for her to be dismissed since most manga gloss over assaults or even attempted rape with a fucking apology or a slap on the wrist lmfao
so seeing tangible/logical consequences for one's actions in a manga of all things was a genuine shock. and all manga shenanigans aside, i would have expected she gets called to the lord and yelled at and warned. and only dismissed if she does it again.

Anyway the subway project got approved really fast, nice to see the young lady being more direct on her standing toward Miyabi and Liz
The advantage of a non-democratic system. When resources need to be devoted to a project, they can cut through red tape and run roughshod over intervening rights without consequence. This is one of the reasons why China can install huge infrastructure projects so quickly, while California might have to spend a billion dollars and ten years per mile of track to build a high-speed* rail project.

On the other hand, if the monarch decides that he wants to make war on the sea itself, the army will find itself hanging out on the beach while the Emperor composes poetry.

*. . . and it may never reach the kinds of speeds you see in Asia

so there will be negotiations to present some sort of benefit for the territory that the subway project would bring... how about fast and convenient trade? You know, the thing mentioned just a few pages ago? :pepehmm: Am I missing something?:oooo:
