When you're IQ is so low. You forget you've transformed into a buff superhuman otherworld traveler and instead remember being a fat weak picked on trash.

Worse still is when you're afraid of missing school, because apparently school is important outside of the basic reason for it's existence of educating and preparation for adulthood employment.

O wait no, that's all school is meant for. So when you're already self-employed as super otherworld adventurer/hunter/farmer what do you need to go to school for? Read books on your own for further education and NEVER go back to that shitty world where even your parents didn't love you.

@TAmNi_edbin incredibly ridiculous if he went back to school just his transformation is impossible in a few months. The questions from society/world, IF he really cares for his home world. The best bet is new identity.

@manafusion IIRC we've already discussed this on the other version, and why they went with "assimilation" (because it makes more sense as a stealth skill name) so look thru the comments section for that one

@manafusion @Wolvenworks That's kinda discussed as well, although Assimilation does look like the more correct term in this context, it's tl'd as Absorption (Which is also a translation for 同化) and he may use it to do some other shenanigans later on, so I also decided to leave it as Absorption since it wasn't a wrong translation and the tl wasn't me
Other people in Einherjar have said Assimilation looks better though

@BuffSoul it's unfortunate that the mirror broke and the mc doesn't actually know he's buff and handsome then, isn't it? The school point is pretty accurate though, he has no reason to attend, especially as truancy won't matter if he can't be found.

@BuffSoul : You might want to consider that OVER A DECADE OF CONSTANT ABUSE AND TORMENT will strongly affect someones self image. That negative self image does not disappear over night. Not a chance, only an idiot would think otherwise.

Plus it was more then just being overweight, EVERY aspect of his appearance was horrible, especially his face, and he can not tell it is improved without a mirror.

As to school, he is worried about not being a productive member of society, something that is strongly ingrained into the social pressure of the Japanese. Not being a NEET is basically the only positive part of his life at the start.

That and you need high-school to make pretty much anything with your life, especially in Asia. Yes he can use the funds from the otherworldly, but that WILL cost him in the long run, since he will get accused of tax evasion and lose his grandfather's house as a result
