Nice, I was already feeling the MC didn't yet have enough OP cheat powers, so the most powerful sage's magic capacity is exactly what he needed. Naturally it had to come with zero effort spent, just like his other cheat powers. Unless walking through a doorway is counted as effort these days.

This sage is awesome, he left behind all his inheritance with the will that someone else finds it and uses it, as he knows after death he'll have no use for it.
I, however, think that sage was a little bit stupid. His overflowing power led to his isolation among humans. He was offered a place in the pantheon of gods. Obviously among the deity, he wouldn't have been isolated because of power (since gods are godly powerful, after all), but he refused it, and lived the rest of his days in the loneliness he hated. Not very smart or admirable, unless all of the gods of that world are total scumbags and that's the reason why he didn't want to join them. However, the fact the gods invited him, a mortal, to be one of them seems to suggest they are okay. Petty gods would never try to promote a mortal.

I think it was about losing his humanity. We don't know what gods are in this world, but from his actions we can assume they don't experience the world the same way we do, like them loosing the "human condition" ie love, suffering, happiness, pain, etc.

He had already lost his humanity if he was, while still mortal, so powerful the gods considered him suitable to be their peer. The other humans saw it the same way, and thus nobody could act normally in his company anymore, and he couldn't feel welcome among humans anymore. Thus, for all intents and purposes, he wasn't a human anymore. Btw, the MC is fast approaching the same fate. Maybe his grandfather was the same, but by living in Japan and hiding every single supernatural skill, he was able to blend in. After all, you can live peacefully in Japan, doing pretty much nothing of note, especially if you have money. Yuuya as well has access to all the wealth he could wish for, with the fantasy world resources. In that fantasy world, however, it could be more challenging to pretend to be a nobody.

If the Sage can travel across worlds, he could have look for Clow Reed from Clamp's universe. They can be drinking buddies and share advice.

That was sudden! I mean I do like the premise of inheriting the sage legacy and will, but just stumbling upon it? Well, I guess the cave entrance did open for him, mostly likely recognising his potential since the sage magic was almost alive and able to "communicate" with him! Ngl, I was scared he was telling him to conceal his powers more because his friends will be scared of him! That would be stupid af! Why have power if you're not going to use it?

This is the coolest way I've ever seen of 'the dead' communicating with 'the living': reading a book that writes itself as it's read.

I feel like all of this is a bit too convenient for the MC. Like, he gets a house that just happens to have a huge stockpile of endgame equipment, and then he also gets a bunch of independently conveniently broken abilities, and then the house is situated in a location with endgame-level opponents but conveniently has a one-way barrier that lets him cheese said enemies in order to powerlevel extremely quickly. When he levels up he for some unexplained reason transforms from a short ugly fat guy into a tall handsome hunk which leads him to become extremely popular in his original world. And then he just happens to stumble upon some guy who was powerful enough to become a god and also conveniently wants to pass on that power to whoever happens to find his corpse. It's like, so many different things that just line up on a silver platter for the MC.

Now, it's not like I dislike the OP isekai MC subgenre or anything, but personally, I like them best when the MC gets a single seemingly weak ability with mechanics that they're able to exploit in a logical but "unintended" way, which leads them to become extremely dominant. This kind of setting feels much more plausible, that they get an ability that wasn't supposed to be strong but ends up being overpowered because the "gods" or whomever happened to not think through how it works properly. As opposed to in this manga, where the MC just gets super lucky 20 times in completely different ways.

It's interesting reading everyone's comments. A lot of people want the protagonist to go through hardships despite the fact that his entire life up until this point has been hardships. I think that he's still going through development, overcoming his issues with self-confidence and learning to form bonds. Depending on how the writer handles it, I think the hardships he faces now are just unfamiliar territory with how he relates to people and how he views himself.

Getting more and more absurd. Transplant of blood-veins like from a dead magician..
