What a weird way for her to baby-speak-slur "ones". Rather than keeping the softer O of ones (kinda like "wa" in "one"/"wan"), she uses a hard O and says "onche" (and the harder/more guttural ch sound instead of sh). Unsure if the e is silent, but I would assume it is spoken, considering the letters before it (though quiche has a silent e, that is a loanword, while this is not).

edit: that map of the city, am I wrong in ballparking it at less than 2000 buildings? Assuming its old-school where several generations live together, and lots of kids, I would be guessing at less than 100k (I have touble imagining more than 50 ppl in every house on average)? Thats a really small capital city, particularly as the world has magic. Feels like her comment about many ppl living in the town is a bit off, as iirc, wasn't she reincarnated from earth?

@Blackrobe Yeah someone's math is off by a factor. 3 copper at a cafe, 8 rai at stand is still hard to parse. $3 at a cafe and $0.08 at the stand makes the most sense if we're talking about something like lemonade. $30/3000 yen for a drink is too high.
