It's even funnier that the healer that noticed Haru's injuries first had to invite Shou in such a roundabout way, for the sake of hiding that the Mages used a child as bait (which was explicitly stated to be grounds for a diplomatic shitshow on humanitarian grounds)... only for this idiot to announce it at this very public space.

Well... actually, from his words, you can't conclude that he labeled Haru as 'Bait'. He simply complained that his lover took Haru's place in the hunting because she wouldn't go. But the townspeople don't know 'why' a child had to go hunting with adults. They could simply think she's really powerful and that's why they included her, for all we know. If they really realized that Haru was being used as Bait... I doubt they would've been so calm after he run away. They would've stormed the Magic Academy lol
