Uuuh, how did he attack the guild master (without actually attacking or even approaching guild master)? And why did the barrier suddenly break after he failed (despite not attacking after it got blocked? And why did the head pop off after barrier broke (despite not attacking - or approaching, still - after barrier broke)?

Of is it canon that he literally attacked through the fourth walls, by merely pointing/laying his sword across the manga's panels? As opposed to attacking through the regular dimensions of space and time? Because that is the only way I can explain things, and the sword does exceed its own panel on that page (though it never hit his neck).

I will take a shot at explaining this. Takumi had his own barrier that was autoactivated as the guild master entered the room and attacked fired magic at him. Takumi then retaliated by slashed at the guild master's neck who stated that Takumi's lightning sword couldn't pass through his own barrier, however to everyone's surprise the guild masters head was slightly detached at that point.

Except mc was out of range and never actually swung at guild leader.

Sure, the paneling is a bit goofy and he should have been out of melee range from the GM but other then that it is quite clear to me what happened. Panel 1, he attacks and hits the barrier at neck height. He doesn't stop the attack, but keeps the pressure up. Panel 3, the shield breaks. Panel 4, off with his head.

Yeah I think that's what happened, and mangaka just didn't feel like actually drawing it [closing into range, either [hitting, hitting, hitting] or [hitting, keeping sword touching letting it melt through, moving slightly to sever neck]].

I honestly would much prefer you just complete a whole chapter and post it in it's entirety than splicing the chapter up into three pieces. it's a chore to read this way.

It’s my understanding that usually when this happens, it’s a choice on the part of the original publisher, not the scanlator. I could be wrong in this particular instance but I doubt it.
