We basically just did this with the Prince. I get that the MC wasn't the direct point of contact then as the prince worked around him to get him banished and whatever, but we as the audience saw the whole thing once time through so it's not as impactful now that we're seeing it again. Especially when we already saw the son interacting with his dad so that we could know it was all a setup/plot.
